Charlton Athletic 1 Walsall 0

6 Easter points…. as tasty as a large handful of Cadbury’s Mini Eggs.

Listening in on the radio was again a nerve-racking experience. Whilst our two hosts talked about what they did the weekend, the crowd ooh and aared, and a young Walsall player from Argentina got all the plaudits the game never came to life however like my Mini Eggs, you can serve Charlton wins as you like.

The loan signing of Dany N’Guessan from the Tool Box has been inspired by Powell. I forgot what number he is in the collection, maybe 23? But the nomad from South East Paris scored his 3rd Valley goal this afternoon and like Jorge Costa, John Hendry, Scott Carson and Paul Kitson will be remembered fondly wherever he plays next season.

There was Player of the Year voting today and like in the past couple of seasons, that would not have been an easy decision, but for entirely different reasons! I will mention Yann Kermorgant though, who is almost indestructible.

I’ll let other Addick Bloggers who were there this Easter Monday give a better view, but Chris Powell’s Charlton vintage moves on. Next stop is historic Carlisle.

Addick Bloggers at The Valley: And Nothing Else Matters; Charlton Casual; Drinking During the Game; Doctor Kish.
Powell-ometer: As expected he brought back Jackson, whose free-kick made the goal, and BWP, but it was loanee N’Guessan who stole the show. There are probably some weary legs so it was good to see Haynes and Hughes on the bench. Onwards and upward.
Elsewhere: Again Wednesday set the standard early beating Oldham comfortably 3-0. Huddersfield’s season is now all about the play-off’s after losing at out of form Bournemouth 0-2. I wonder what Lee Clark is thinking? Lloyd Sam scored a hat trick for loan team Notts County as they go ahead of Carlisle on goal difference. Carlisle were held by Scunthorpe. Stevenage grabbed a late point against Graham Westley’s Preston and Brentford are still in touch drawing 0-0 at Hartlepool. At the bottom Chesterfield survive another week thrashing Wycombe 4-0 and Exeter beat Leyton Orient, who are nervously looking over their shoulders, 3-0. Rochdale play Sheffield United tomorrow.

We’re Charlton fans here at sendawaythetigers.

Today’s was a tough tense but enjoyable game – and Yann was immense, battered and bruised but he has so much more to his game; his first touch and vision is one of the best I have seen at The Valley ever.

    He’s my POTY.

I worry a little that we have moved away from the crisper passing game of early season when we play to YK’s strengths, although from what I have seen he isn’t bad on the floor either, but I am more than happy to accept results over performance at this point in the season.
