Talking turkey

Happy Thanksgiving to all of my American readers. Remember if you’re deep frying a turkey today, to do it outside.

Bermuda doesn’t like to miss out on a holiday of course and we are shut tomorrow but working today, albeit it is as quiet as a church full of mice.

I was in the company of Americans again this week, and on Monday night at the end of our dinner instead of the usual conversations around college basketball or American football, the MLS Cup came up as it was the night before and as I had suggested it actually made it near the top of all the media headlines.

There were the normal head shakes about soccer and how boring a 1-0 was, but the conversation was lifted when one of the blokes pronounced that the good thing was, that LA Galaxy are now the world champions. Yes, I know….
