MK Dons 1 Charlton Athletic 1

Great point tonight after a first half when we were clearly second-best. The 2nd half was much improved though and listening on the radio as the game moved past the hour mark I was urging Powell to change it, but to be fair we were well on top at that stage. Then he introduced Green first and then Kermorgant and both combined to grab a peach (by the sounds of it) equaliser.

After that the game swayed from one end to the other with both sides having chances to win the 3 points, and although I was disappointed to hear Powell settle for a point by bringing on Hughes for BWP, I will happily take the point.

MK have had a sticky patch recently since Charlie MacDonald got injured but I rate their manager and although they are hard to like, I think they play some good football. The signing of Clinton bloody Morrison on loan did nothing to help my concern before the game, thus I am very pleased to see us remain unbeaten tonight and extra pleased for the 1,200 or so Addicks who backed the team so well.

Powell-ometer: Breathed new life into them in the 2nd half and his two subs produced the vital goal. Disappointed to see him bring on Hughes for BWP late however.
Elsewhere: Instead of increasing our lead at the top Preston clawed us back winning at Wycombe in an incredible game. After beating Sheffield United at the weekend Wanderers found themselves two-down in 9 minutes but fought back to lead 3-2 at the half. Then Preston scored twice again to win the game, Mellor netting the winner, his 7th in the league this season.

In fairness, I think the Hughes – BWP switch was more to do with BWP tweaking his knee about 10 mins before after a challenge in the box.

He never recieved treatment so it may have slipped under the radar, but he was cleary uncomfortable.
