Charlton Athletic 2 Exeter City 0
The two-man Addick contingent in our party followed proceedings in a Magaluf bar on Saturday afternoon courtesy of Soccer Saturday and Twitter. It sounded like we made a little hard work of the victory but playing against ten men and probably a referee intent on levelling things up after an obvious balls-up (photo) is never easy.
The quality of Bradley Wright Phillip’s goal, both goals in fact, were a pleasure to watch later that night when drinking in a bar with the Football League Show on the ginormous background television.
The manor of victory has had some critics but I’d rather concentrate on the facts than the flaws although I might be getting a little impatient to see some of the other squad players but I guess we will see them in action tomorrow night.

Powell-ometer: I would rather a bit more creativity on the bench as I’m not sure we need both Cort and Hughes but Powell appears unlikely to change an undefeated formula.
Elsewhere: MK came unstuck at Sheffield Wednesday as Gary Madine scored twice in a 3-1 win and neighbours United battled back to get a point at 10-men Scunthorpe to go top. Brentford continued their good form winning at Wycombe. Chesterfield and Rochdale had eye-catching away victories whilst Preston beat Yeovil in a seven-goal thriller at Deepdale on Friday night.
