Today in League One

With Charlton playing on Monday we couldn’t rely on either Franchise or the Blades dropping any points this afternoon and in fact they both won at ease. MK up at Carlisle 3-1 with Charlie MacDonald scoring again and Sheffield United thrashing Ryan Lowe-less Bury 4-0.

Brentford moved up to 4th after a fine win at Walsall, Clayton Donaldson getting the solitary goal. Shefki Kuqi scored for Oldham on his debut as they held Huddersfield 1-1 at Boundary Park, Notts County beat Bournemouth 3-1, the Cherries are now ominously in the bottom four. Leyton Orient remain at the foot but got their first point drawing at Chesterfield and Tranmere were also goalless at home to Yeovil.

Stevenage won well at home to Rochdale 4-2, Chris Beardsley scoring twice, Hartlepool beat Exeter 2-0 and Scunthorpe and Colchester shared the points.

Only two of the ten games this afternoon attracted crowds of more than 6,000.

CA, given no Prem or Championship football those attendances are both shocking and worrying for clubs.

And sort of understandable if the England game clashed but it didn’t.
