Michail Antonio update
Qatar side Al‑Sailiya have joined the race, not sure if that is the right word, to sign free agent Michail Antonio.
The BBC suggested yesterday that Antonio has options but continues to train with Charlton.
Today Nathan Jones said (courtesy of Rich Cawley): “We’ve had Mic in for a few days training and we’ve spoken to him – his options are open. There are still further discussions. We’ve had him in to train, for us to have a look at him and for him to have a look at us.”
Al‑Sailiya will have more buying power than the Addicks, but I don’t expect that Antonio is looking for one big last pay day more likely an opportunity to prolong his career after his life-threatening accident.
Antonio is a South London boy, has a contract with TNT Sports and has broader media ambitions.
Al-Sailiya were promoted last season, sit 9th in the 12-team Qatar Stars League and have their own relegation battle to contend with.
They do only have 7 games left to play, so add in the move to a different country and culture you’d have to think that subject to both sides agreeing Charlton’s 14 game run in presents a better opportunity for the Jamaican.
Time for Jones to go,it’s getting more boring to watch Charlton these days,now watching Bromley.at least there are goals look at Leburn don’t know when he scored a goal last time money spent on players Jones has just loaned out.

I’m concerned about taking Antonio on till the end of season and after reading of the severity of his injuries its a risk.
If Antonio and the club can come to a suitable arrangement then why not ?
If Antonio was at the Pompey game, I would guess he’ll be on the plane to Qatar in the morning.
