Tanto Olaofe leaves on loan

Back to Stockport County for striker Tanto Olaofe for the rest of the season.

Last season Olaofe played 51 times for County and scored 12 goals. For Charlton he has started just 6 games and the winner at Sheffield United was his only goal.

Described by Jim Rodwell as “an important part of our future plans and we look forward to his return in the summer.”

Stockport said that they had to fend off a lot of interest from other League One clubs for Tanto, and like Rob Apter will join a promotion chasing team.

Apter and Olaofe may well end up being real value for money but that is £3.5m of summer signings now back in League One and not part of our squad.

A sign that our summer recruitment failed, Rob Apter and Tant Olaofe might make it at Championship level, but we currently don’t have the luxury of time. Giving them extended runs in the team isn’t going to do us any favours if they can’t make an impact.

    Good luck to them…

It was the aisle we were shopping in.

Birmingham already had a team stacked with Championship players, Wrexham went and signed a load (and still are) for a lot of money.

We could not or did not want to do that.

Hopefully apter and tanto get good game time under two up and coming good managers good luck to them both, personally I would of kept amb and got rid of kaminski who I think is our biggest problem, more signings to come and out goings coyr

IMO Tanto, if had been given a decent run of games rather that a couple of starts, the one with Kelman was probably the best two together upfront and a lot of us though he would try it out again, but lo and behold, the next game another player partnered Kelman, and Tanto was then mainly left to cameo roles coming on late as a sub. Yet NJ gives other players, obviously his favourites, game after game to see if they can improve, but others if they can’t perform almost immediately, they are pushed to the sidelines.
