Three lined up to join

I understand how difficult the January transfer window is, but we are now day 12 and we have the most important run of games coming up, so come on and hurry up!

The squad is decimated and is running on the fumes and the left side of defence has to be addressed this week.

Amari’i Bell has been outstanding this season. He has not had a bad game, not even an average one, and one can argue it is him we have missed the most when he hasn’t played. Bell’s missed six games due to hamstring injuries, which have been more stressed when he hasn’t played moved to LWB, as he was last night just for a few moments.

It does sound on the jungle drums that a left wing back is on the docket for this week.

The name in the frame is Liverpool youngster Calum Scanlon. The 20-year was on-loan at Millwall last season. Liverpool signed him as a 15-year old from Birmingham for a reported £500,000 fee. Scanlon has had little exposure to first team football.

The James Bree negotiations continue, but the Suffolk local press are suggesting that right-back Harry Clarke is in talks with the Addicks regarding a loan move.

The Leeds’ born right back was influential in The Championship with Sunderland and Ipswich bought him for £15 million with an additional £5 million of add-ons after they were promoted to the Premier League. He played 32 times last season for the Tractor Boys but is coming back from an injury.

Finally Landon Dykes was spotted at yesterday’s cup game, despite rumours that other clubs have joined the race to sign the Scotsman.

We need a big, positive week in the transfer market.

I totally agree C.A having looked at the remaining fixture list for the rest of the season we defiantly need to strengthen the squad
what could have been a achievable run in now looks much tougher as the teams we will be facing have upped their games considerably.

Precisely, David and I are awaiting the news we have all worked 24 hours and tried, and we have not been able to get our No1 targets over the line.
    We may get one??

Striker Lyndon Dykes’s name is Lyndon
Sounds like Amari Bell’s hamstring issue remains a big problem
Can CAFC’s resources be so stretched that injury prone players returning from injuries are the best option for the funds available?

Very underwhelming so far, are we going back to our ‘usual’ transfer windows from seasons ago? I know the January window is notoriously difficult for clubs to get quality players in, as most are still contracted until the summer at least. But, we are looking at a centre forward who’s goal tally is lean to say the least, a left wingback who has been out with a five month injury, and a young lad with very little experience in the Championship. The owners must spend some money to prise contracted fringe players with experience and ability away from other clubs.

Have just signed Clarke from Ipswich on loan which if he is over his injury would be a decent loan signing for right back, but just hope NJ then sends Bree back and keeps Apter, but knowing NJ’s love for Bree, it will be the other way round which would be a dreadful decision!
Plus sincerely hope someone else signs Dyke, as we definately don’t need another non scoring forward, would much rather get Kanu back.

This is a very very important issue in January and getting quality players in will be a task…Its obvious that we need to address the left side issue and getting in Harry Clarke on loan from Ipswich is a start.
Look………..we must stay in this league and I’m sure the owners will be aware of the predicament we are currently in and will do doubt fear relegation as we all do.

Clarke is a right back not a left back!

I think Lydon Dykes could be a useful addition CA. Have seen him a couple of times when he was at QPR. Works hard and causes defenders problems. Unlikely to be profilic I would say but could work well with Kelman/Godden.
