Swiss roll
I used always write about my travelling whatever the reason or how insignificant the locale.
These days I travel so much with work that I rarely get time to write about them or frankly the places don’t muster a lot of creative thought.
I do always try to post a photo to the front page of the Blog though ↘️.
Today I am in Zurich, and have a couple of spare hours so I should be exploring the favourite place I visited last year, but it is absolutely pouring outside, so I am making the most of a rare couple of hours of doing nothing.
Work begins after lunch, but is put on hold tomorrow as we have planned a little side trip to Lucerne.
The train takes less than an hour from Zurich and we’ll have the day there exploring this medieval city nestled between lake and mountains.
We have also a pre-planned boat trip across Lake Lucerne to the village of Alpnach at the bottom of Mount Pilatus. From there we’ll take the world’s steepest cogwheel railway up into the Alps.
Hopefully it won’t rain (the forecast isn’t great) because my research tells me that Lucerne shines bright with it’s candy-coloured homes, lake promenades, grand plaza’s, medieval ramparts and ornate wooden bridges.
Ich drücke dir die Daumen!
