Ahadme out, and Dr Abbott moves on
It was this week’s Carabao Cup opposition Stevenage that have taken Gassan Ahadme on loan, with negotiations concluded on Tuesday after the striker was left out of the Addicks’ squad.
Ahadme ends a tough first year at The Valley by moving on a season loan to Stevenage.
Lots of reasons why it hasn’t worked out for him at Charlton, but it’s a fresh start for the 24-year old and I have Stevenage down as having a good season under Alex Revell, so hopefully Gass can be a part of that.
Ahadme still has 3 years left on his contract and there’s a chance he comes back much more of an asset. Good luck to him.
In other news hot on the heels of Tracey Leaburn and James Brayne, it has been announced that Dr Will Abbott will also leave the club.
On one hand it is a sign of how far the club has turned itself around in that suddenly our people have become highly sought after. That is no coincidence, and the challenge now is that we have to replace them with even better people.
Our medical team was a joke until, to give him what was his proper title, the Director of Performance Services Dr Will Abbott changed club behaviours and culture after he was hired not even 2 years ago.
Our medical team and injury recovery record before Abbott came was laughable frankly, and he and his team should take a lot of credit. I see now a medical, sports science, coaching and management team aligned.
I am sure Abbott has left an excellent working group behind, but it will still need a leader and this next appointment will be really very important, as important as signing a player.
Good luck Dr. Abbott in your future endeavours, you made a real difference, and we do not now want to go backwards.

One of those departures is rather unfortunate for us !!
Just so glad Jones has just advised, as has been mooted by several of the press/pundits, that he is not interested in another of Ipswichs misfits, they are trying to now also off load!!!
