Bolton interested in Ahadme
Rich Cawley is reporting that Bolton Wanderers have approached the Addicks to discuss options for Gassan Ahadme.
Bolton manager Steven Schumacher has made it a priority to sign a striker and that could be Ahadme.
I can’t work out if Ahadme is truly useless or unfortunate, but a change of scene will suit both parties, and free up some salary headroom.
Last season did not work out at all for the Spanish born 24-year old, and it’s extremely unlikely we’ll recoup the £750,000 fee, but a season loan in a side that creates chances and is expected to challenge for promotion could see an upturn in form and means that he is still our ‘asset’.

Please get rid and then as per usual he will be banging in the goals, and when I saw this thought it might be Lord help us Godden who still has not got minutes into him and Berry,also???
It clearly has not worked out for Ahadme for whatever reason. I heard that he had some family issues, that aside he definitely lost confidence and looked out of sorts when playing. NJ was quick to push him out, despite being his signing. We have been here before, the likes of pistol Pete, tocunadean, piggott, and mcloed all come to mind. I am others will have other names. If this is true, then it will be good business to offload, and am sure some people on here would be happy to drive him to Bolton or other clubs as well ! 😄

I had to check CA that it wasn’t April 1st when you said Bolton were interested in Ahadme! If we can sell him outright for a reasonable amount considering what we paid for him, that would be a great bit of business, but suspect Bolton will try and get him on a loan basis, incase it doesn’t work out and then he will be back with us again at the end of the year!
The issue will be wages – we will agree a low fee with add-ons if he comes good. Hopefully Bolton can offer him something in the same ball park as we were paying him. That would be best all round, a clean break and a fresh start for him.
If he goes, good luck to him. He had off-field issues (a sick child) and it didn’t help that he played most of his matches for us in a system that wasn’t working – either for him or the club. Once we changed that and brought in Miles Leaburn and had Matty Godden up to speed there was no real place for him.
But Charlton fans love a scapegoat and he was last season’s.
Alongside PoTY and best young player we should make Scapegoat of the Year an award at the end of the season.
