Tracey Leaburn to leave Charlton
Well, that’s a real shame.
Charlton Athletic can confirm that Head of Men’s First-Team Player Care Tracey Leaburn will leave the club next month after 10 years of dedicated service (more).
Tracey Leaburn has been the glue that has held this club together and no one more than her deserved to celebrate last season’s promotion after year’s of gloom and despair.
She had a huge impact on the football club from player welfare, to building culture, from fan engagement to even telling Matt Southall to f*** off.
Over the past decade when we struggled to even see light at the end of the dark tunnel we had dug ourselves into, a few people such as Steve Avory, Chris Parkes and Tracey Leaburn reminded us that our football club is unique, and with these sort of people still at the club there was always a chance that our luck would change.
And thanks to Nathan Jones it did change and I’m happy for all of us, but especially Tracey Leaburn.
Wow, she will be a loss, but people and things move on and I wish her every success in whatever she decides to do next, and of course she will still get to see her son in a red shirt.
Meanwhile the club had announced the appointment of Alice Larkworthy as the club’s new Commercial Director.

Yes agree with you CA…..and I appreciated her setting up thePSA testing day at the club that I have used over the past years.
Desperately sorry to see her go. I hope it was her own decision and not something undisclosed that has led to her departure.
Perhaps I’m just getting cynical in my old age? 🙂
I think with the new management under Gavin Carter they would not force her to go but I could be wrong.
I really hope there is nothing more than Tracey deciding to move on but I’m like Daggs, forever suspicious of our Club. Tracey’s contribution to the players welfare is enormous and I’m sure they’ll all miss her. Going to be a very difficult act to follow!!
Good luck to her in whatever challenge she decides on next. She will be a big loss behind the scenes at the Valley. Thank you for your service to our great Club Tracey.
Agree she will really be missed, as she has kept this club together in the bad times and has a great relationship with the players. She definately will be really hard to replace.
I wish her all the best in whatever she does now, but similar to Daggs, it does seem a bit strange to leave the club now? Especially as Tracey and also suspect Carl, would have had quite an input in advising Miles to sign for another three years and just hope, I honestly don’t she would have been pushed, that it wasn’t through a clash of personalities with someone!
The Guardian did a lovely write up on her in January:

A big loss, no home game was complete without her organising the tunnel jump after a win.
Totally agree. Tracey has been a star player over the past 10 years. My family, and especially my son Grant, are indebted to her for all the support she freely gave when Jack Jeffreys (my grandson) sadly passed away. That support was then transferred to the Trust formed in Jack’s memory, which supports seriously ill children and their families, including VIP days at the Valley. Bless you Tracey and may good luck go with a true Addick.
Jack ♥️
David, your family have also been incredibly strong. Brave Jack will never be forgotten and Tracey and the football club make us all proud in these moments. 🙏
Why am I suddenly getting ‘old news’ on the News Now platform ????????? ?
I think they had a glitch for a while. Looks like it is back to normal now.
Yep,better now CA.
