Joe Rankin-Costello becomes Nathan Jones’ 6th summer signing after signing from Blackburn Rovers for an undisclosed fee but said to be in the £750,000 bracket.
Interestingly Jones talks about him as a midfielder, when he looks to have played more of right back for Blackburn. His utility however will come in very useful.
The 25-year old who has signed a 4-year contract with the Addicks played 115 games in The Championship for Rovers scoring 6 with 13 assists.
If midfield is to be where Jones sees him, then he adds good competition to Docherty and Anderson. Joe R-C appears good on the ball and can play box to box in midfield.
Mixed reports from Rovers’ fans suggest he lost his way last season under Valerien Ismael, but a couple of years back he was their rising star. Clearly he needed a new challenge.

CA not sure Anderson will feature too much.. however I think JRC will be on the right side.. wing back. He is skilful but recently has had a run of injuries. Perhaps a change of clubs will regenerate his form and if so, he will be a good player. There was pace when I saw him a couple years ago.. anyway good luck to him and I hope he is given a chance to settle in and make a difference.
Nj has made some good signings so far this summer not sure about jrc though but yes agree a couple of seasons ago had some real pace and showed individual skill if he can stay injury free we may see him show this kind of class again fingers crossed good luck today boys at dartford
