Isaac ‘Tanto’ Olaofe
A Friday night rumour to sleep on.
The 25-year old Lewisham born Stockport County striker has scored 36 goals in 121 games for the promotion rivals and Hatters’ fans reckon we are making moves to sign him.
Olaofe certainly fits Jones’ profile. Strong, quick, aggressive, works hard, presses high are all comments coming out of Stockport. He looked a real handful in our games against them.
The Championship might be a big step up after coming up from League Two with Stockport the season before, but in all honesty they stepped up very well.
Tanto came through the Millwall youth team, and grew up in Dartford. One more name to ponder.

Another rumour as expected at this time of the year, but we do need some more quality, which normally costs, and we have not got billions to spend, but Rodwell promised CAFC will be competitive.
Nothing profound but what’s for dinner?
I would like to know the thoughts of fellow charlton supporters regarding the comments made by richard Crawley about our interest in former player loannee jesrum saki .He said that palace would want in the region of £15 million and that charlton will not be able to compete at that valuation. My thoughts are that the valuation is a fair one bearing in mind his age and that he scored a good amount of goals in the championship for Sheffield United. We have owners who have bought stability to our club but must realise that we are playing at a different level now and we should be able to compete in the transfer market to bring in a few quality players.Failure to do so we will be back in league one ?.GARY G
With Thierry Small’s departure we have a vacancy on the right and JRS is a known quantity in that position – both for us and in the Championship with the Blades. It seems that Palace don’t really want him but at 22 he’s got a lot of football left in his legs so they won’t him go cheaply. I can see why we’ve made contact with Palace, I think he has two more seasons left on his contract.
Besides the transfer fee there would be his wages – and since he’s technically a premiership player he’s likely to be on a decent remuneration. Could we match his salary demands?
But he’s a South Londoner and was at the play-off final although that was maybe down to being good mates with TC than out of loyalty to Charlton.
I think he’d be great. £15m is a lot though especially when you think Palace paid £12m for Esse, who had played a lot more tier two games. Even Eze was I think not much more than £15m.
Sorry CA nothing to do with the above but what the ** is all this stuff about us leaving the valley? Please tell me it’s nonsense. I actually can’t bring myself to read it but saw rodwell’s name mentioned.
Rodwell was asked if we’d ever move on Talksport and he replied its always a possibility especially with not owning the ground but said the preference is to stay. Nothing to get worried about I’d suggest but we need to retain ownership of our spiritual home.
I was thinking on the night of the play-off semi. Imagine playing anywhere else but The Valley?
Hi CA and LP,
In my humble opinion I sense that Rodwell said it because it might be a way of putting some pressure on the Belgium and the current tenant agreement in place…..I could be wrong
I wouldn’t be concerned in any way….
Thanks friends. It was just one more thing unable to cope with! Life eh?? Perhaps given what else is going on around us it should be of least concern. Xx
JRS £15 million !!!!! comedy gold. No way on this Earth would or could Charlton be paying that for him.
Personally I wouldn’t give £0.5 million for him. I never rated him particularly highly.
