21 today

Chicago Addick becomes 21 today, which means it can drink legally in all 50 U.S. states. Cheers 🍺.

21 years ago today I penned my first post from my Chicago apartment after returning from the pub where Zinedine Zidane had just scored twice in injury time to beat England in their opening Euro 2004 Group match.

That was not the last time this Blog wrote of snatching defeat away from victory!

I left Chicago in 2008 but decided to keep the CA moniker after I moved to Bermuda and likewise nowadays holed up in the Florida Gulf Coast city of Sarasota, where by the way I am still looking for a fellow Addick.

For most of my 21 Blog years I didn’t really celebrate birthday’s but I did when we reached the 10-year milestone, and I milked it’s 20th birthday last year because, well I thought it was worth trumpeting.

The last year has been quite the year to be a Charlton fan, and after really enjoying my 20 Players and 20 Places series, I’m thinking if time permits to run something similar to honour 21 years.

I have plenty of ideas as usual but as usual it will be about committing time to it, work does not get any less hectic.

I like a list as you probably know, so I am toying with such things as bucket lists, an Addicks ultimate team or squad and even 21 people I’d like to have a beer with.

Anyway keep a look out for posts through the summer and beyond to commemorate that this Blog is old enough to go into the pub and buy himself a pint, in the United States anyway!
