Big games are what it’s about
Of course I wasn’t paying any attention 😉, but tonight went pretty well elsewhere.
Tonight the juices flow a bit quicker as Saturday looms larger. I tell you what though, it’s nice to be involved in a big game, we have not had anywhere enough of them in recent seasons.
Those Addicks of a certain age remember when West Ham or Tottenham was a big game, but Saturday in Leyton is a big game, not season defining or make or break, but a big game.
When I first started going to watch Charlton in the late 70’s we played Orient almost every season, and I think one of those meetings was my first ever away game.
The O’s have had a very good season, and are another example of a club that came back from adversity. They had that disastrous Italian owner who presided over their fall out of the league just eight years ago, but we start as equals on Saturday.
I am feeling a pang that I thought was lost, an impulse that wants me get to the game on Saturday whatever it takes, but I won’t and I can’t and couldn’t anyway as Addicks sold out the away end a month ago, and we could easy have taken four times the number, even at £32 a ticket.
Those lucky enough to be going, enjoy the moment, we haven’t had many for some time

Cheers CA can’t wait… maybe not season defining or make or break but feels like the biggest game since ‘19 with next weekend to come as well🔥don’t think form will get us as we just seem to be getting better just injuries so 🤞🏼
