Everyone else
I was only telling myself a couple of weeks ago when we were mid-run that we just had to worry about ourselves.
I wasn’t paying close attention to the table or other games, and I certainly wasn’t paying any attention to other team’s fixtures.
One defeat and we now find ourselves back outside of the top six. These last two L1 game days have really sucked for us. More late goals last night and a fine win for the O’s at Wrexham gives the table a different look to just this time last week.
Suddenly today I found myself checking who was playing who this weekend, and even started to jot down some scenarios and then I stopped. Don’t be so stupid.
There is almost a third of the season left. 45 points to play for and everyone has to play each other. There will be winning streaks, losing slumps, good luck and bad luck.
Let us just worry about ourselves. We have six of the current top ten left to play and a holy seven games during March. I might then start playing with permutations if we get to that point still in the hunt.
For now, it’s about bouncing back and proving that we have a chance.

I also think Orient will be in the playoffs and CAFC still need a remarkable run to even finish 6th but football is a funny old game isn’t it?
There must be changes this weekend and Mannion to come in and IMHO would like to see Gilbert in from the start instead of Berry who seems to not have the legs anymore.I hope Jones opts for Gilbert and everyome wasmentioning his last minute amazing corner the other week but hope Jones thought process he is only a loan player and IMHO he deserves to start, COYR and let’s start another run of wins together with loads of goals and lol football is easy, unless our team is CAFC!!

Great credit to all 3 of them and yes Orient and Stockport just keep on winning and yes Hudds, after a sticky patch have come out of it. As far as CAFC are concerned we hope to bounce back immediately this weekend but let’s not forget there are no easy fixtures as far as CAFC are concerned and particularly concerned about fatigue and loss of form and yes a few players due at least on match ban and Coventry in line for 2 matches and yes our GD needs to be improved and only one striker, Godden getting goals.
I honestly don’t know what games you have been watching as since Brewer has come back in we have had our best run and he has made some outstanding saves in some of the games and kept us in the game.
Mannion for one, is not a shot stopper and has made quite a few errors which cost us goals, he might look more bulkier than Brewer, but he defintely is not as good and wouldn’t be first choice in the majority of the teams in this division!
Mannion is likely to replace AMB because of injury. I don’t understand your comment about errors made by Mannion. If you are referring to the long range goals conceded early in the season I personally didn’t blame him rather the midfielders who failed to protect the 10 yard area outside the penalty area. Mannion lost his place because of injury. I think that Mannion and AMB are of a similar standard and only injury should cause a change.
Totally disagree, you can’t keep blaming the midfielders Mannion did not even get anywhere near any of those long range shots, whereas Brewer has got his hands to quite a few and has managed to save some of them. Also Mannion made quite a few other errors which were low weak shots he should have saved! Plus have you not noticed whenever a penalty has been awarded, he hardly moves and is almost static as he has not dived once, on either side trying to anticipate where the ball will be placed and has not got anywhere near the ball, let alone save one. Totally different to Brewer who tries to anticipate and has saved several penalties!
Sorry but Brewer is a far better all round goal keeper than Mannion and his own real weak link has been his distribution, which on is recent performances has vastly improved.
It does appear quite a few supporters seem to have a real downer on Brewer for some reason, yet he has saved us from losing on many occasions!
A mixture of the two would be ideal. They have different assets, but individually they are not good enough sadly.
Totally agree with the comments….we just need to focus on getting 3 points each game and don’t waste our time,energy,pen-ink,sleep and sweat thinking about other teams. We all know that all our remaining games are totally unpredictable as so many factors can affect the result.
I do think we will get in the top six at the end of the season but who knows where?
I’m finding myself slightly surprised when I say that, Orient may be our biggest threat! They’re on such a great run at the moment which doesn’t appear to be ending anytime soon.
