Leaburn contract extension activated

As the club continue to negotiate a long-term contract renewal for Miles Leaburn they today triggered the extra year to take his current deal to the summer of 2026.

This means I suspect that both parties are not close to agreeing a new deal, but the beauty of these club triggers are that we protect ourselves from losing a player for nothing.

Leaburn has had his suitors, but he’s also had his injuries and at the present time it makes sense that he gets fully fit and plays a key role for the rest of the season.

Signing a contract beyond 2026 means that ambitions Miles has of playing at higher level at least gives the club a deserving fee for a player who was given a chance after his progress at Chelsea was stymied.

An extra comfort blanket is that Miles is being advised by his Mum & Dad.

With Snidy Scott at the helm what could possibly go wrong?
But yes, Miles has to prove his fitness and form up to speed and hoping he will get back to his best and yes what price loyalty and CAFC have been brilliant with him and yes he has mentioned it before but we shall see in due course and yes of course we normally sell for peanuts but we need his goals as Goddard the only goalscoring striker at the moment.
