Isted sold to Burton

As socialized yesterday, after passing a medical Harry Isted has moved to Burton Albion for an undisclosed fee.

Isted played 23 games for the Addicks after joining from Luton last summer, although more recognizable for his loan spell at Barnsley.

We have had real problems with our goalkeeping position in recent season’s. Not since Dillon Phillips who’s time was sandwiched between Ben Amos have we had a dependable ‘keeper. Many have come and gone since then.

Hopefully the club secures the signing of Asmir Begovic this week.

Isted was not involved in today’s friendly at AFC Wimbledon, nor was Scott Fraser or Lucas Ness. Miles Leaburn is obviously far from being fully fit and Nathan Jones said after that Teddy Bishop is no longer training with the club.

I don’t put a lot of emphasis on friendly results, but still a clean sheet seems beyond us.

At last we have finally got him off the books, can’t see why Jones continued to play him after some terrible performances! He never gave Brewer even one chance.

Anyway as you said CA we are still shipping in goals and from what Richard Cawley reported and from supporters who went, it appeared we looked no better than last year with the new players providing very little!

Also our new so called One million pound striker AHhadme, came on as second half sub for Chukie and only played for 30mins before being replaced by Kanu. I also don’t think he played in the friendlies on their trip abroad as he had an injury, all very concerning, with only two weeks away.

Whilst Alfie May continues to score for Birmingham, his replacements have yet to have even one effort on goal between them. So if it does go all pear shaped only one head will be on the block, Jones! As Methen is his latest statement, which I actually thought was very good, stated that all the new players they have bought in and have gone out, are down to the manager, as whilst we look at the finances etc it’s the managers decisions on players and that included May, as we told him we had received an offer for May but it was up to him as there was no pressure to sell and he implied that was fine let him go! Let’s just hope for all our sakes, Jones has got it right, as he is using the same formula he used at Luton but as they say lightning rarely strikes twice. As if he hasn’t, we will be in a much worse situation than last season!

we were pants at Wimbledon I was really disappointed. In midfield we hardly won a ball, we just can’t or didn’t compete. We look as bad or worse as last season on the strength of that match. At least Jones seems to have watched the match I did but he will probably be gone by Christmas! Shout out to plough lane though thought it was a nice ground for spectators.

None of the midfielders on view at Wimbledon look like ball winners, so no replacement for Dobson is evident. Coventry is tidy but too light weight for the defensive role. Ramsey only played for last 15 minutes but once again caught the eye as a ball winner who can move forward and pass forward, if he has a reasonable left foot I would move him to the holding midfield position as we are well covered for right back and right side of the defensive 3 with Watson, Asiimwe, Z Mitchell and A Mitchell (if Jones plays 5) also Ness if still with us.

It was poor yesterday but again obviously not the final match starting 11. The game against Portsmouth will need to be a big improvement.

Ive said it before, I’m far from convinced by NJ. I find him to be a bit too self righteous.

Selling May was a prattish decision and I think we’ll suffer as a result.

This seasons team is NJ’s, on his head be it. Don’t be surprised if we’re seeking yet another new manager by January.
