Scott Fraser signs for Hearts on loan
Near the top of an extraordinary long list of frustrating waste of times in recent years is Scott Fraser.
Another that came with great promise, and although he could when he wanted to play a decisive pass and find the net, those ‘Pirlo’ moments were too few and far between and I never warmed to him.
It might say a lot about the standard of the Scottish Premier League and the possibilities that Fraser can supposedly bring that he has signed for 3rd placed Hearts. He will stay on loan there until the end of the season. he does have another year on his contract after that.
He is at least somewhere he wanted to be after buying a home up in Scotland recently, so this move might just be what he needs to re-boot his career.

It was a pity to see Scottie lose form this season and it may be a response to Appletons tactics allowing him to start when clearly he was struggling.
This led to fans getting on his back and making everything worse as confidence drops.
I hope that he will find his mojo at Hearts as I believe he is a player who just needs to focus on what he does best.
As its a loan we could see him back in better form.

Agree with you CA, a total waste of space and one of the top wage earners at the club, glad to see the back of him!
Never really puts a good hard shift in, and just waves his arms around always telling other players who to mark or chase, whilst he stands well clear marking no one.
Plus as a midfielder he never gets stuck and the only time you see him tackle someone, is from behind, as he doesn’t want to get any knocks himself.
Just hope he’s not yet another player who is off loaded to us again at the end of the season and we are stuck paying him yet another years wages!
The salary package was the reason given for holding the move up. I am sure we are paying part of his salary. Fraser was our highest paid player, at least until this window.
Yep don’t disagree but leaves us with no wingers or creative midfielders.
Hoof ball to a non-injury prone/fit target man (don’t have one of them either) may be the only option….cue the strange Welshman, he loves a bit of that.
Derby twice, Bolton and Portsmouth upcoming, kind of need that new manager bounce I think.
I was genuinely excited when we signed him,wether COVID and injuries at the start of his cafc career played a part in his decline we will never know. But glad he’s gone.free up some wages
I hope he becomes a Hearts superstar and convinces them to buy him off us.

We never played to his talents – making him a box-box midfielder didn’t suit his game and he played his best football for us under Dean Holden who played him further up the pitch than other managers before or since did. But in L1 you need to be a workhorse in midfield and put in the yards.
Good luck to him and some part of his wages are off the books. In Appleton’s final few games he didn’t even make the bench so having his wages drain the wages bill while he contributed nothing was foolish.
