Lewis Fiorini signs on loan

My first thoughts on the signing of Man City U21 Lewis Fiorini is why would the World Champions give us anther loan player after the abject failure of Slobodan Tedic’s loan. Perhaps City realize how useless he is.

Loan signing number two through the door yesterday. Quite the opposite of an experienced full signing, 21-year old playmaking midfielder Fiorini has yet to kick a ball this season but last year made 14 appearances for Blackpool in The Championship and the season before with Michael Appleton as his manager was involved in almost every L1 game for Lincoln City.

Fiorini joins a catalogue of untried and untested loan midfielder’s we’ve had from a higher league, but he did adapt well to the physicality of L1 at Lincoln and his Blackpool loan last season earned him a 5-year contract at The Etihad.

Qualifying though his late grandmother, Fiorini has also represented Scotland all the way through to U21’s.

Good luck Lewis.

One of Appletons mates for some reason we get him….if he’s so good why would Man City let us gave him after the disaster of Tedic ?
Oh what a web of mystery and bewilderment and Scott claiming to get players who are fit, experienced and building for our future…..what a joke !!!!!!

Well at least we know now that Appleton is in charge for the rest of this season so let’s hope his best player from Blackpool or Lincoln can get of the treatment table at some point at least chunks can have a chat with him

I can see some logic in the way the signings are panning out – we needed a box-to-box midfielder and have got that in Tyreeq Bakinson and we needed a number 8/attacking/creative midfielder and have that in Lewis Fiorini. He’s worked with MA at both Lincoln and Blackpool so there should be some mutual understanding there.

If the news about Jonson Clarke-Harris is true then we will have signed three players to play in the spine of the team. Add in Alfie May and George Dobson plus Lloyd Jones in defence and that gives us a strong core. We just need another centre-back to play alongside Jones.
