Tyreeq Bakinson signs on loan

First transfer in the door, and whilst the order of those arriving cannot be mapped, it is a little underwhelming.

Sheffield Wednesday’s 25-year old defensive midfielder Tyreeq Bakinson has joined until the end of the season, when he is out of contract.

I know the name Bakinson because he has twice scored against us in his career. Last season for Wednesday and the season before in the final game for Ipswich. So, in his favour he has been part of strong teams in this division.

Bakinson made 32 appearances in last season’s promotion push under Darren Moore, but he is down the pecking order in midfield this season and has only started 3 games in The Championship.

Defensive minded and packs more height, but I can’t see what qualities Bakinson has over Louie Watson, but clearly his days in SE7 are numbered.

Welcome Tyreeq..

Building for the future – my arse.
Might help us to stave off relegation, but how is this building for 2024 and beyond when he leaves?
Same with Fiorini, also signed on loan today till end of season.
CA, your description as “a little underwhelming” is diplomacy personified. Lovely job!

Muppet Scott – “Intentions to sign experienced, fit, ready to go, non injured players”….fact, signing the exact OPPOSITE of this. The lad Fiorini has not played 1 minute of football this season!!.
It will take him the rest of the season to get match fit.

So, Sheff weds in the Championship relegation zone, release a dynamic mid-fielder on loan to us. mmmmm
Meanwhile Man city lend us Lewis Fiorini who apparently hasn’t played a minute this season and has a year of injury behind him. He should fit in well ……………….

He’s experienced at this level and at 6ft 3 he brings a bit of physicality.

I don’t mind this transfer, we need squad players and currently have in terms of central midfield options not much to shake a stick at – George Dobson and that’s it – Scott Fraser is off form, Panutche Camara and Conor McGrandles are injured and Karoy Anderson is a novice at this level, and judging from his recent comments Michael Appleton doesn’t rate Louie Watson who’ll be on his way back to Luton. We need a player or two who can provide some old fashioned grit – much like Darren Pratley used to do – in breaking up play and winning possession back. Our midfield has looked too porous recently for my liking.

    Oh boy oh boy !!!
We get two signings and I’m totally underwhelmed with them….they’re not as good as players already in the squad !!!
Bakinson is not in the same league as Louie Watson maybe a sign that Luton have lost faith in us and Appletons stupidity not playing him.
Bakinson has only played 3 games this season and we sign him…what !!!!!!!
Scott needs to get down to Hackney Marsh on Sunday and see who else we can get.

We at last get rid of Tedic back to Man City after a loan that was uninspiring in all ways only to sign another Fiorini another Man City on loan.
He’s hardly played any games this season and has had a long term injury so should be fit in 2025 !!!!
What the he’ll is Scott doing claiming “we are building for the future “……..in league 2 ? its clear as day.
    Relegation battle looms…
