Congratulations to the U18’s

Charlton’s U18’s have been a shining light for the club in a season of darkness. The team mostly made up of first year scholars, who won’t be 18 until next season were crowned regional champions last weekend.

With still six games remaining the young Addicks currently sit 19 points ahead of Colchester in second. Other teams in the league include Watford, Swansea, QPR and Millwall.

After securing the title Hamzar Serrar’s side will play off against the 2nd placed team in the Northern Region at the end of the season to decide the overall title. Looking at the Northern half of the table we’ll probably play one of the Sheffield clubs.

The Addicks last won the national title in the 2017/18 season, and lost last year to Wigan in the final.

This same group of players over-achieved in this season’s Youth Cup as well making it to the 5th Round.

Many of these players have featured in and around the first team this season including Daniel Kanu, Tyreece Campbell, Karoy Anderson, Nasir Bakrin, Ryan Huke and Deji Elerewe. I know there are readers that play the academy a lot closer attention than me so I’ll bow to any knowledge of this exciting group of players.

Congratulations to our U18’s.

    Fantastic.
How many performances will we see in the 1st team before they are sold?

Congrats but bye bye as soon as a higher league club comes knocking.
    .
I am sure Chelsea and Tottenham will want to raid after the farcical loan of their 2 players in Jan.

    WTF was that all about.

    • Houndal – I think too much emphasis is put on our record with young loan players. Liam Millar aside, our recent season loans have added very little accept clog the path of our own players to the first team.

Bowyer’s standing in the game and contacts is much missed.
