MK Dons 0 Charlton Athletic 1

A win. Much needed, and if not a vaccination, a real shot in the arm.
We have seen many faces of Charlton sides in recent weeks, some had never reared their head before from a Lee Bowyer side, which had us all asking ourselves unpleasant questions.
But last night the boys in red and fetching black shorts, looked much more familiar. There was a bite, a focus and determination to win the game after we got the excellent start.
With our recent defensive problems, winning 1-0 was much preferable than winning 3-2. Even the possession stats had a more familiar look to them as MK Dons played their well drilled keep-ball game but the high press from us and the closing down was great to see.
Liam Miller was excellent, other than his goal, up and down the pitch he put a real shift in, and Darren Pratley showed what an old head, and fit as a fiddle body can. The 35-year old really led by example.
Now for a little bit of a run.
📢: “When you go 1-0 down against a team full of professionals, who know what it takes to grind out a win, it’s going to be tough. They showed real discipline, aggression and intensity to stop us.” – Russell Martin

L1️⃣: No stopping Lincoln at the moment. Another good win, this time at Pompey. Accrington again showed their worth beating Hull 2-0, Donny beat AFC Wimbledon 2-0, Peterborough were held at home by Bristol Rovers, Sunderland won at Ipswich leaving the Tractor Boys in 10th and Blackpool hit five at Wigan.
A much needed three points, though quite how we held on to them……..who knows..
Bowyer didn’t defend the 1-0 lead from the 60th minute. He defended it from the 30th.
