Kiko Casilla given fine and 8 game ban

The FA today handed down their decision on the racial abuse charge by Leeds’ Spanish goalkeeper Kiko Casilla on Jonathan Leko when we played then at The Valley in September
The independent three-person FA regulatory panel based its decision on the balance of probability, which is the civil standard but despite Casilla’s claim that it was “not a true reflection” of the incident, cameras and lip reading experts tell a different story of what happened between the two men following a corner and witnessed by Macauley Bonne. Leko was visibly upset afterwards.
Leeds United backed the Spaniard’s claim and of course Leeds fans are up in arms at the whole injustice of it all.
Casilla was found guilty of racially abusing West Brom loanee Leko, fined £60,000 and banned for 8 games which threatens to derail Leeds’ promotion chase, but don’t worry he’ll be back in time to face us at Elland Road on the final day of the season. What fun.
As we have grown to expect the FA have dragged this out, and spent a week deliberating and passed down the just tonight before Leeds play tomorrow lunchtime.
Yes, indeed it will be fun and more than likely, as I have been saying for weeks CAFC probably need a draw to stay up and Wigan last game but they will be clear by then.
