Unfortunately it appears that the memories of Saturday’s famous win will hang over for a bit longer and not in a favourable way. There were rumblings of discourse after the game when Macauley Bonne made a comment about an unsavoury incident during the game, and closer scrutiny at a corner in the 2nd half Jonathan Leko and Leeds’ keeper Kiko Casilla clearly swapped words, which we were now were racist in nature on behalf of Casilla.
20-year old Leko reported the incident to referee John Brooks and now the FA will investigate. Much will hinge on what Leko tells the FA and if found guilty Casilla could be banned for as much as six games. Just for the record Casilla has not been officially named in the investigation.
A few weeks ago Leeds United were awarded the 2019 FIFA Fair Play Award.
