On to Rochdale

After last night’s Scunthorpe win over Plymouth our task on Saturday became clear. Plymouth were soundly beaten at Glanford Park, with 2-0 flattering the Pilgrims, but we have to expect them to give it everything at Gillingham on Saturday, and likewise at the same time Lee Bowyer’s team must not let up their current levels of work rate at Spotland.
Plymouth failed to capitalize on their games in hand, just as we didn’t either, proving that points in the bag are eminently more valuable.
Our game got picked by Sky to be covered live on Saturday evening, which I hope doesn’t stop those willing and able to still make it up to Rochdale to back the boys. More than 1,200 tickets have been sold to Addicks as we look to round of the season in our recent vein, taking us into the play-off’s in a good place.
Rochdale will be scrapping for their League One survival and although a point might be enough Keith Hill will sure to have them fired up.
Scunthorpe host Bradford City and should collect three points to cement 5th place and goal difference should be enough for Rotherham to claim 4th. Wigan need just a point at Doncaster to win the title.
I wish the team best of luck but I have a concern that we have a severe lack of creativity in the side particularly in open play. The goal against Portsmouth was route 1. An Amos clearance to Magennis who flicked on to Ajose. The goal on Saturday came from a free kick. Reeves in particularly needs to improve his final ball he is tending to take one too many touches before passing or shooting.
I have seen the last few games and Reeves like a different player – at least for us. I keeps the ball well, but suspect you are right and needs to pick a pass quicker.
We definitely miss Fosu.
Not sure i am liking joining you as an overseas supporter. Numerous times this season i wished i was a million miles away of course. And now i just feel homesick. Being on sky sat may help the logistics but to my horror i realise we will not be back for the semis should it all go to plan sat. Sods law ca. The CARD sweatshirt will be on though in a bar in the himalayan foothills.
How is the Himalayan wifi signal?
Erratic but could be worse. Have just seen the sky piece about roly delaying the sale. Think i’ll protest and boycott the semis if we get there. Please tell me there is no chance he is staying if we get promotion. In my book its worth losing and getting promotion next year with new owners.
I agree I’d rather miss out on promotion this year if it ensured RD was gone.
