A dullard of a game settled by a moment of sheer class from Ricky Holmes. The angle of the free-kick combined with the speed to beat the ‘keeper was absolutely top drawer. Today was Ricky’s 18th goal in 45 league starts for us, and from memory everyone was pretty much peachy.
I listened in on the commentary and it was a dour game, some may call it a typical derby, it isn’t really although the Dons are our only London rivals in the division. Like everyone I have a lot of time for them, but the constant slagging of Robinson is a little tiring. But we still boo Jermain Defoe, so hey ho.
Holmes’ goal came after the Addicks stepped up the pressure forcing a number of quick succession corners. Ricky was downed right on the edge of the box, and by all accounts the ref got it spot on, but up stepped the pony tailed beauty to arc a shot into the far corner of the goal from a impossible angle.
After that we had to hang on a little. Sarr came on to add height and strength and Solly headed against his own bar, and the only other moment of note was that Ahmed Kashi stupidly got booked. Stupid maybe but it gives the Algerian a day off next Saturday.
The 3 points secures 4th place a little as leaders Shrewsbury lost a league game for the first time and Wigan were held at home by neighbours Blackburn. Unbeaten in 7 with non league oppo coming, what could go wrong..

Very good posting and oh so true the fickle nature of supporters and you spot on about us being hyprocites Re: booing of Defoe, but people should never forget the manner in the way they left the club and also with Parker, but different circumstances.
Yes indeed Robbo still has his critics and now he seems to think a little before speaking.
But as you say hey ho he is what he is and he sure loves the media and can say things in a couple of sentences , instead of 12 minutes or more!!!
Yes the media (and not all of them) but many inhouse at CAFC and the so called volunteer reporting team of Charlton Live
I hope they looked at the U tube of Conte about the bullshite the other day and we all know they can be baskets and also with each other too.
The media team inhouse at CAFC do not reply to genuine and decent crtiticsm and frankly after several emails no good manners in acknowledging.
However turn the tables and they all protect each other when genuine supporters (who actually pay to get in!!!) they do not like.
Right Charlton Live and hyprogites (spelt wrongly for a purpose)
However a win is a win and if one can do this when playing poorly, then we will take it, but against better teams if we do play like this then maybe a different result.
The still small squad is still a concern of worry ofcourse.
