Shindig

As the Americas Cup in Bermuda finishes and the super yachts make their way out into the Atlantic to find the next nautical shindig, I myself thought I would do a runner for a week and have headed back to the U.K. and home. I arrived back this morning and drove down to my parents in the East Sussex countryside. I’m here for a couple of relaxing days to catch up on some sleep, update myself on the family gossip and drink my Dad’s red wine.
Tales of 34 C temperatures looked a little fabled this morning driving down the M23 in grey rainy skies. I might not have packed appropriately.
The germination of the plan for me picking this week to be at home is a day I have planned on Friday with 12 mates to celebrate two of their 50th birthday’s. Two blokes, best friends that I have known for over 3 decades. We have a rather large and posh lunch planned in town which will be bookended by more booze than you can shake a stick at.
The weekend I will spend with my son, and then Monday I will head into the city for work and a dinner I have planned with a group of old mates. There will be a bit of running around on Tuesday before heading to Gatwick and flying back to Bermuda on Wednesday.
Welcome back to blighty CA! I blame you for the weather change then!
