Leeds United 1 Charlton Athletic 2

So low had any confidence in a Charlton result got that when the commentator on BBC Radio 5 read out the latest score from Elland Road as 1-0 to Leeds after they scored, I actually stopped and thought that we are so bad that we must have somehow contrived to have two goals taken away from us!

In all honesty I felt so removed, so empty during the game that it was hard to care when JBG and then Lookman scored, mind you we should never scoff at beating Leeds even though they are a fully signed up member of the looney tune foreign owner club. Blackpool continued their protests today against the Oyston family with 3,000 marching on Bloomfield Road before the game, which included I noticed a Charlton flag. The Tangerines lost 4-0 to promoted Wigan, which pretty much condemns them to another relegation. Let us just close our eyes and think about for a second.

Back to today’s game and it appeared that Solly and Henderson were still resting in-growing toe nails, but Jacko did play and played well by all accounts alongside Ahmed Kashi, who made his return from a season-ruining injury. Nick Pope was outstanding in between the posts.

With the Player of the Year award tomorrow. I voted Les Berry, I always do. One player who won’t win it I suspect is JBG. At times this season he has not played to anywhere near his ability, but he is now the club’s top scorer and has 11 assists. 8 more than the next best, who happens to be Makienok. Heaven knows who deserves to be the POTY, but statistically speaking it probably should be Gudmundsson. Statistically speaking we should be relegated.

Talking of stats, the win moved us above MK Dons and only 8 points behind Ful. Oh.

My POTY is Jordan Cousins – and we know for a fact he has had the same treatment as Solly and Jackson CA.
So, the Football League are threatening us if we upset Sky next Saturday and muck up their insistence that all the top games finish at the same time. (in the Sunday Mirror today). Oh boy am I ready for this one. I hate bloody Sky and what they have done to our game. Since when do they care about anything other than the premiership anyway. Much less the fans with their ridiculous kick-off times. So they can whistle – or rather we can. I would be all for complete disruption of this one. And as for the Football League – it is time they stepped in and protected our players from this mad-man and his henchwoman.. I suggest the Football League and Sky TV join the Roly Out Campaign and get rid of him – that is the only way there will be no disruption to the game on Saturday.
