Jodi Jones

With James Henry still part of Wolves’ plans and any moves for him shelved until next summer when Henry is out of contract, Dagenham & Redbridge’s 17-year old winger Jodi Jones has become the Addicks’ latest target.

Jones is about as far removed from Henry as possible. Both wingers but 26-year old Henry has played 250 odd games and has 9 England U19 caps, whereas Jones is just 17, and has only made 9 League Two appearances after coming through the Daggers youth system.

Jones by all accounts is a talent and Charlton fans were impressed with him on Tuesday night and could be one for the future. Whether he answers Guy Luzon’s need for an immediate impact left winger is doubtful.

Charlton had a £250,000 bid turned down but have now increased it to £275,000 plus the offer of young defender Ayo Obileye on loan for the season. 20-year old Obileye was on loan at Victoria Road last season and manager Wayne Burnett is a fan.
