Showcase

Last week our 3-year old daughter made her first appearance on stage. It was what being a Dad is all about. The little one excited, skipping off backstage arm in arm with her friend. Me, a nervous wreck.

Since last September she has been attending a local dance school called In Motion. At first she cried and the other half had to sit in the corner why my daughter looked at her with one of those “why are you making me do this Mummy” grimaces.

Fast forward 9 months and she was on the stage with her little class doing her ballet routine to Sinatra’s classic ‘Luck be a lady tonight.’ Two nights. And she was brilliant and she is still telling us all about it.

I have to say In Motion did a fabulous job with girls of all ages and put a show on worthy of a west end production, although they did charge west end prices, to see your own kid, but the show needed paying for I suppose. Anyway, taking nothing away from the people that run the dance school and their many helpers, it was very well done and apart from a certain 3-year old there were some phenominal young dancers on show.
