Work matters
It’s the crazy season at work, the 2nd Quarter is huge for us in determining our year. Days are long, sleep is interrupted by a meddlesome brain and we have a continual stream of clients in the office from overseas and any calorie-watching is chucked out of the window.
I have managed to reverse myself out of a work conference in Los Angeles next week. I’m not normally someone that ducks out of a excuse to get on a plane but the journey from Bermuda to LA is pretty oppressive and even though I quite like LA and it’s eccentricities the trip will entail a lot of time travelling across town in cabs and also spending hours upon hours in oxygen infused conference rooms far underground in hotel rooms.
Today I have a day with my boss, who is in from New York. Back to back meetings, high on concentration with breaks only to eat. Food is never far away in my job fortunately or unfortunately depending on your willpower.
Felicitously I have for the first time in 30 years started to habitually visit the gym. I actually don’t enjoy it but I dedicate time to it and I have a trainer who encourages rather than bawls at me, and I feel an awful lot better for it.
Since my knee operation (ACL) two and half years ago I’ve given up playing all sport, although watching my 3-year play tennis like a mini Chris Evert, it has made me want to start-up again and probably playing a 3-year is a good re-introduction! Football however may be a bridge too far. Any recommendations? And don’t say golf.

Running. May 24th is coming up!
