Cardiff City 0 Charlton Athletic 0

It was Cardiff’s night and we neither rolled over and sat on the periphery of the party nor pooped it for the excitable Welshmen. What we did come away with was a further valuable point and another impressive team performance.

I couldn’t watch on the various live feeds because I had too much going on at my desk plus frankly I’d still be watching now as work’s internet would be buffering until the buffalo’s came home….

I did however keep a close eye on the club’s excellent Twitter service, which despite it’s popularity maintains a real personal feel to it, plus of course half of the people I follow were watching it on the computer so I was getting all the feedback in stereo.

Powell’s unchanged side defended gallantly with Solly impressing in his battle with the wily Bellamy. We also offered a threat up front with Jackson hitting the post in the first half and Fuller forcing a fine save in the 2nd. Obviously with 26,000 Bluebirds Dragons cheering their side on we were inevitably going to come under the cosh, but another clean sheet sounded very deserved.

Not unexpectedly Chris Powell was the first to congratulate Malky Mackay, who let us not forget has spent a fortune on putting his team together, but I didn’t know that him and Powell were such good friends. Nice touch and the very best of luck to Cardiff next season.

Addick Bloggers at the Cardiff City Stadium:
Powell-ometer: An unchanged line-up for the 3rd game and they delivered another powerful performance on the road.
Elsewhere: The Championship, too good a division that no one wants to leave! Watford blew it at Millwall, Hull lost at Wolves but Leicester burst their way back into the top 6 after beating Bolton in a 5-goal thriller. Forest fell at Middlesbrough, Boro’s first win in an age in front of just 13,000. Forest may have peaked too early and Palace’s woes continued as they were thrashed 3-0 at Ipswich. Brighton drew with the battling Peterborough, Blackburn won again, beating Huddersfield 1-0 and Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday was goalless. Leeds won for the second time in four days under Brian McDermott beating Burnley Barnsley and Derby drew 1-1. Finally Bristol City were relegated after losing at home to Birmingham.
