Brrrrrr
It’s my turn to witness some minus temperatures today when I fly to New York with work. Winter is upon us in Bermuda, but the temperature remains in the late 60’s (18°C), but you’ll be pleased to hear that it did rain on Sunday!
New York has a low of -9°C today and I have had to grab some gloves and a scarf from the pile of clothes we have ready for skiing next week when we are off to Colorado.
My colleagues in New York were displaced from their downtown Water Street office after Sandy, but they moved back a week or so ago but apparently the 6ft watermark in the lobby remains as a reminder.
Water St, is not called so without reason, similarly The Seaport behind it, which is just coming back to life although many of the bars and restaurants, a lot of which were below street level, remain closed and may never re-open such as ‘our’ local the Nelson Blue, a New Zealand inspired bar and restaurant.
I’m only in NYC until tomorrow evening and will spend both days high up in a room in the office but I’ll be out and about for some beers tonight, cold ones too I expect.

I used to attend events at the water club, place with all the America’s cup memorabilia. Guess that suffered to… But now out in sunny Singapore the weather is never really a problem 🙂 if sometimes I bit repetitive.
Matthew – The Water Club has re-opened. I asked and it was shut for about 8 weeks.
Miami baby
Be there on Friday and twice more this month!
