I would’ve taken that pre-match like I’d imagine most of you would. Even a dignified defeat, which at half-time it looked like it might be, I probably would’ve slept on ok.

I struggled again with CAFC Player, it kept cutting out, so I listened to a Leeds commentary team, and I remembered why I actually prefer to listen to the opposition view during games.

The dour Yorkshiremen were very critical of their unimaginative side especially a certain Luke Varney. Meanwhile they just couldn’t understand why, after we’d equalised, we didn’t go for the jugular and attempt to grab all the points that perhaps our organisation and patience deserved.

Powell made a number of changes, some enforced, some not. JJ came back to claim the armband and played in the middle alongside workaholic Pritchard, who replaced Stephens just minutes before kick off.

Wilson put in a real shift by the sounds of it on the right side and Kerkar played wide left. The surprise was seeing Dervite play the holding role, which by all accounts he did very well and he also found time to shoot in our equaliser.

I was pleased to see Ceddy Evina start in his natural left back position with Solly switching to the right and then there was the beast Cort, who the homies on the radio were salivating over.

According to my new friends, the dour Yorkshiremen, there was only going to be one winner in the last quarter of an hour and a couple of times we caused them to throw their arms up in the air (I imagined that of course) after we constructed a couple of good opportunities. Then according to the Yorkies, Kerkar should have done better before BWP came on for Hulse, who sounded like he worked his balls off, and he got a good reception from the dirty Leeds fans, who tonight each managed to stay off the pitch.

In the dying minutes BWP, Pritchard and Kerkar all blocked, saved and missed in that order before I was up on my chair at my desk after BWP had a great shot tipped over the bar by Paddy Kenny in the dying seconds.

A point a great reward for those that made the journey and also made a lot of noise and a vast improvement on Saturday, result and performance. We get a quick chance to continue this little bit of momentum at Molineux in a few days.

Elsewhere: Leicester stay top beating Brighton, who haven’t won for 5. Cardiff came from behind to beat 9-man Watford. That is four off now for the Hornets this season. Talking of comebacks Birmingham came from 3-down to draw at The Den and Derby beat Ipswich after being behind. Forest equalised late to draw at Blackpool, likewise Bolton at Wolves. Boro beat Hull 2-0, Burnley won again under caretaker Terry Pashley 4-3 at Ashton Gate, Peterborough had the result of the night beating Huddersfield 3-1 and Lennie Lawrence’s Crystal Palace *shiver* drew at Barnsley.
