Curbishley turns down Wolves

“The former Charlton and West Ham boss is believed to have dropped out because he and chairman Steve Morgan did not share the same vision for the club.” More.

One has to ask if Curbs will ever work again. As far as I can make out this is the closest he has come to a top flight job since he left West Ham in 2008. In fact I would go as far to say, does Curbs have the fire left in his belly to want to work in 24-hour-a-day under the microscope management job?

This self-made east end boy has more than enough money, is very family orientated and keeps himself busy doing the odd media thing.

I think that West Ham experience damaged Curbishley more than perhaps we will ever know. Curbishley has proven that he is a fiercely loyal individual and what happened to him at his boyhood club has made him sceptical working for anyone again.

To some people, a lot of people, football is a drug. Alan Curbishley it seems can leave it alone, or at least bide his time until the ‘perfect job’ comes along. That’s if such a thing exists.

Curbs is waiting for the Villa job and probably knows he won”t have to wait too long.

I would imagine that job would appeal far more to Curbs but the Villa board has appointed two other managers since Curbishley has been out of work. The current one cost a lot of compensation and grievances from the stands yet he was appointed over Curbishley.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see him at The Valley next season as a Director of Football, I’m sure Chris would appreciate some help in the Championship
