Tranmere Rovers 1 Charlton Athletic 1
Hey, a point at Tranmere is not a bad point, we aren’t going to win every game and as February moves into it’s second half we are still unbeaten in 2012. That incredibly is the fifth successive 1-1 draw against Tranny and ignoring the 4-0 thrashing we gave them a few years back we haven’t won there since 1975, although there has been a lot of draws.
I had a bad feeling about today so personally I’m happy to take a point and psychologically it’s always more desirable to have a better 2nd half than 1st half and judging by the radio we were oodles better after the break and created a number of chances.
We did have Hamer to thank for a couple of cracking saves but Rovers’ Fon Williams also kept out a certain Hollands goal before Michael Morrison thumped a header in off the bar to draw us level.
The travelling numbers were the lowest at a game on the road for a while so well done to those that were on the Wirral, which included in our end I understand Jonjo Shelvey and Nathan Eccleston.
The balls in our court now as we play twice before the Sheffield derby at Hillsborough next Sunday.

Powell-ometer: It’s hard to knock the team changes although with Green on the left the midfield sounded a bit disjointed. But a much better performance in 2nd half.
Elsewhere: The massives lost in the early kick off at Chesterfield but United grabbed a late winner as they came from behind to defeat Preston. Notts County manager Martin Allen was sacked after the Magpies defeat at Hartlepool. County will now look for their 8th manager in just 3 years. MK Dons thrashed Oldham 5-0, Bournemouth lost at Rochdale as 6 of the bottom 7 won!
