I listened in on Radio London and their view was although Fulham deserved to win the game, it was never a 4-0 result and we can be very proud of ourselves. My brother held the same view and indeed until Dempsey’s second goal there was only one team in it, and David Stockdale was playing a blinder.

A penalty and two unfortunate deflections follow a similar pattern for us this season, but there was plenty to cheer for the 7,000 Addicks (plus many others apparently in home areas) and they showed up a nothing club for what they really are.

According to Mrs Danny Murphy on Twitter she and her children were abused by Charlton fans during the game, which if true is bang out of order. Although why anyone would a) bother themselves with her and b) even recognize her is beyond me.

Anyway, a nice distraction is over and when players and fans alike wake tomorrow, there will be only one goal for the next five months.
