Yeovil Town 2 Charlton Athletic 3
Christmas just keeps on giving. A wonderful gift of 3 points this Boxing Day afternoon from cider country as Chris Powell and his team along with almost 1,000 Addicks head back to town grinning from ear to ear.
It was nerve wracking listening to BBC Radio 5, a rare treat for me, which had a reporter at the game, and then watch the vidi-printer on ITV announce Danny Green’s injury time winner. A houseful of Addicks went slightly crazy at that point.
With Wednesday losing in that crazy few minutes there was a five-point swing at the top of the table as we moved 8 points clear. Nice.
I mentioned our ‘Man Utd moment’ the other week and there was another today as we camped in Yeovil’s half searching for that winner with Green finally bursting away to score in the end populated by our fans.
This team is overflowing with backbone and determination and it’s make me proud.
Addicks at Huish Park: Addicks Third Division Diary;
Powell-ometer: Put your feet up tomorrow mate, you deserve it.
Elsewhere: Walsall proved what a decent side they are by grabbing two dramatic injury time goals to deservedly beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-1. United play Notts County tomorrow. MK Dons won comfortably at Leyton Orient and Huddersfield won for the first time in four beating bottom club Chesterfield 1-0. This concertinas the group behind us with Stevenage moving into 6th after thrashing Colchester on the road 6-1. Wycombe move out of the bottom four beating Exeter 3-1.

Compliments of the Season, CA. Really enjoying your Christmas posts from ‘Home’.
7,00 miles away and 8 hours later, the cold meats and pickles are getting sorted as I type. 🙂
oops, I missed a zero for the distance. Maybe Orient could have it New Year’s Eve….
Thanks Ken. Season’s Greetings to you and your family too. Is it snowing yet?
Cheers. No snow where we are yet but plenty for the skiers and boarders up the ‘hill’.
