Charlton Athletic 2 Carlisle United 0

I was at the Atlanta Christmas Parade yesterday whilst the game was being played out in front of a Millwall-sized crowd at The Valley, showing the indifference to which fans as well as Chris Powell have to the FA Cup (this season anyway).

Powell made a lot of changes with only four of the recent regulars starting but it was still enough to overcome a Carlisle side for the second time in 6 weeks with Morrison and Jason (always believing) Euell scoring the 2nd half goals.

In today’s 3rd Round draw we were drawn away at Fulham (a club who I have an inane hatred off). The tie gives us a great opportunity to test ourselves in a game we could win and equally would be no shame in losing.

Also it presents an opportunity for Addicks to travel in numbers and remind the likes of clubs like Fulham what they have been missing.

Addick Bloggers at The Valley:
Powell-ometer: He made a lot of changes but there were welcome run outs for Sullivan, Cort, Pritchard, Hayes and Evina with a very attacking bench which included Kermorgant, last seen leaving The Valley turf on a stretcher.
Elsewhere: Huddersfield kept up their unbeaten record by not playing, the two Sheffield clubs overcame Torquay and Aldershot respectively but Brentford lost to Wrexham at home in the shock of the round.
