Green day
Tuesday night’s cancellation also affected the chances of a few players staking a claim for a first 16 place. Danny Green, Andy Hughes, Ruben Bover, Cedric Evina and maybe even Jason Euell could all have featured against Reading but although one would suspect Powell will be tempted to begin with the same team that began on Saturday I think he may give the right wing berth to Danny Green holding back Waggy for a 2nd half introduction perhaps even up front.
After last Saturday I have had real pangs of homesickness this week and in fact have even unusually been off sick since yesterday as tiredness and lassitude invaded me.
Nonetheless I would be on the first high speed plane (photo) to Nottingham tomorrow, if such a thing existed, to once again throw my support behind the Addicks. To those going I hope you witness the excitement I did in a couple of 3-3 draws in the mid nineties up there.
I see that with five goalies Nick Pope has signed for Harrow Borough on loan until September 17th. Boro play in the Isthmian Premier, the same league as his former club Bury Town.
Meanwhile Reading or us were drawn at home to Preston in the next round of the Carling Cup missing out on a much more attractive London or at least southern rival.

Perhaps a sign that Elliot will stay beyond the transfer window with the news that Powell has now loaned young keeper Conor Gough to Salisbury, who played higher in the pyramid than Pope’s loan club Harrow Borough.
