Kent Senior Cup
According to reports in the Kentish press it looks like Charlton plan to take part in the Kent Senior Cup next season. Gillingham are also expected to enter and Millwall were also asked.
Charlton last entered the competition in the mid 1990’s (we won it in 1995) and were regulars in the 70’s alongside Millwall and Crystal Palace. The lack of league clubs in the county has hindered the Kent FA financially and the Senior Cup has taken on little importance in recent seasons and is played out to sparse crowds.
335 watched the recent semi-final between Bromley and their tenants Cray Wanderers and 260 were at Ramsgate to watch Dartford win 3-0.
The games are played throughout the season and teams that enter include Thamesmead Town, Whitstable, Dover, our friends at Welling and current holders Sittingbourne.
I expect Chris Powell will add these games to his reserve schedule for next season.

Nice idea, might not do much for confidence if we get knocked out by Cray Wanderers however…
With no formal reserve team football the KSC should provide much more competitive match practice for the 2nd string and returning injured/suspended players.
This year’s Dartford v Bromley final should attract a very decent crowd at an excellent venue.
We’ll be there at Princes Park to support the Darts CA. Reckon the gate should be over 2000. SC is right -it is a superb venue. We were there on Saturday to see them lose 4-1 to Boreham Wood. Three penalties awarded, to add to the three awarded last week at PP…
We were at Welling yesterday to support Tunbridge Wells at the Kent Senior Trophy against Erith Town. We lost 3-1.
so my teams did really well this weekend!
As an Addick who shares a love of Dartford FC, I’ll be following this years final (may bank holiday) on the radio (I live in Spain), and I’d love to see the senior Kent teams enter next year, as well as gillingham! Bring it on.
