Eddie Howe – Loyalty eh?

Unbelievable. It appears that Burnley are set unveil their new manager…. Eddie Howe with assistant Jason Tindall. What a drama queen and I feel for the Bournemouth fans, who must be exhausted and upset by all that has gone on.
As a football fan, I feel let down too. There we were admiring Eddie Howe’s loyalty only two days ago and his words were as empty as Turf Moor on a Saturday afternoon. Burnley of course have the benefit of a few more years of parachute money and are 4 points off the play-offs. Money, there is that word.
As far as we are concerned, this is a massive kick in the knackers to a promotion rival, so we should be pleased but really Eddie, what a muppet you are.
Meanwhile, with apologies to one of my readers Pat, Chris Powell has become the latest odds-on favourite (I think that he is the 4th) in the bettting. Of course my heart leapt when I saw his name linked, and the thought of seeing him with a tracksuit on doing his jump out of the tunnel after a victory feels me with so much joy, but what a gamble. I am really torn over this.
One would assume that Captain Peacock and Damian Matthew will take the team again on Saturday.
First I had heard about Howe. Just reaffirms that there are no morals in football.
There are so many reasons why I do not want Chris Powell to be our manager and they are all to do with my affection for him and for the club.
As I wrote on charlton life today “get him in slater, we promise not to boo after two poor performances, after 3 however ………..”
Stay away chrissy, we love you too much.
You will note I’ve kept very quiet about CP in all of this. Absolutely delighted though I would be it would be horrible if it all went wrong. I fear it may be a bit too soon for him, but what do I know? As I write I’m looking at a photo of him doing just as you describe pinned to my printer. Sigh.
Couldn’t agree more CA. What a plonker Howe would be, surely he wouldn’t be able to set foot in Dorset again!
Chrissy Powell would be a gamble, but one I’m prepared to accept and wholeheartedly support both CP and the Board for their courage
I have gone on record before saying that I would love Chris Powell to be our manager, but if it happens I really believe we (the fans) need to give him time and accept that promotion might not be this year.
