Sam Bartram and The Blitz

If you haven’t seen this beautiful short animated film about The Blitz with Charlton and our very own Sam Bartram starring as central figures then please watch it now. It is a wonderful and moving piece of work.

Wow what memories. Same boyhood hero, same trollybus except me and Dad used to get off at Plumstead corner to meet up with my grandad. Then it was the tram getting off by Cawoods sports ground. My everlasting memory of ‘Sam’ was my Dad taking me to his shop by the ground to buy a football. It was white never seen one befor and Sam and his dear lady wife giving me a pair of socks and shinpads for my birthday.
Thanks mate what memories.

Great stuff CA..thanks
This is certainly one to look at over Christmas. Today there are no support staff and I am manning the entire office because the ‘severe weather policy’ is in force.
Lovely little film, my Dad and Grandparents lived in Bexleyheath throughout the war. I didn’t have the opportunity to see Sam Bartram, but did get to the Wembley play-off Final. Makes you realise what’s important in life.
