{…} Strikes again

Dear Tom, I am sure you are a bright fellow. Ambitious, resourceful and proud. But tomorrow morning take a long good look at yourself in the mirror.

Tuesday, and Lievan de Turck, a Roland apologist with no affiliation or official connection to Charlton whatsoever, rocks up to SE7 with a scrappy piece of paper handwritten in Flemish. Ollie Groome makes a quick back exit for the Valley Cafe. Tom does what he is told. Mel Baroni doesn’t even show Charlton on her resume, take a note Tom, and not one of these {…}.

Read it. What an earth does it say? It’s an embarrassment.

Respect to Mel

In further embarrassment following the {…} rant from Roly on Wednesday, new Head of Communications Mel Baroni resigned after just 46 days in the job. Mel had joined from M&C Saatchi some two years after the last Head of Communications Matt Wright left. Baroni came with some fanfare as the club waited for her to finish her notice. It now seems that Mel has finished with Charlton and who can blame her.

Those that had met her said she was charming, bright and up for a challenge. The trouble is that the challenge presented by her new ignorant and nutcase, ooh, I almost said unique, bosses was impossible and I would wager that the {…} rant was the final straw.

Meire ridiculed again

The club might not win naff all in the forthcoming future but they are way ahead in the league table of ridicule with ace striker Katrien Meire the leading scorer.

An eagle eyed supporter on Charlton Life found some public documents from Companies House that show that Meire had recently resigned as a director of Charlton Athletic Holdings. Cue classic Charlton conspiracy theories alongside glee at the thought that Meire was packing her bags.

What then followed was hilarious as Addicks wondered to next steps whilst amateur graphologists analysed Meire’s signature to make sure it wasn’t a fake. Turns out it was, as Addicks’ protest against the regime and in particular our incompetent CEO took a different turn.
