Conor McGrandles gone

The first of the unwantables has left the club. Signed two years ago, we never saw anything like the best of the deep-lying midfielder who had played over 200 games before he joined us.

McGrandles leaves us after playing just 19 times in two seasons.

McGrandles had a year left on his Addicks contract but has signed for his old club Lincoln on a permanent transfer.

Ben Garner signed McGrandles in the same month that Joe Wollacott, Mandela Egbo and Eoghan O’Connell also joined. A warning sign there of how important summer recruitment is.

  1. The game of hiring and firing has begun…Clear out the old wood and get new blood in the focus on promotion.

Hope we can hang on to Alfie

    • We shall see in due course and perhaps offer him a better contract but this is CAFC and anything could and might happen but to sell for peanuts befre getting a replcement but where are we going to find another gs like him and yes it will show the true anbition of these so many owners and the jury is still out on them but with Snidy Scott still there god help us.

Good luck to him…he had a few injuries and some bad luck but was mostly kept out of the side by George Dobson, but we’ll have that last minute equaliser against Pompey to remember him by.

But that’s another wage off the books, and it frees up some money for an incoming transfer.

As an aside CA, and sorry to go off-topic, as you know we have an election coming up. The government changed the rules recently regarding the voting eligibility of overseas based Brits, previously I think you could only vote if you’d left these shores within the last 15 years, now it’s been extended to your lifetime. You have until the 18th to register. If nothing else it might amuse your family to vote in a British election.
