20 Years; 20 Places: No.6 Napa Valley

Another Place on my list to extol my 20 Years of writing this Blog.

In no particular order, but each one memorable. No. 6 is Napa Valley in California.

This is one of my happy places. I first visited Napa along with neighbouring Sonoma with my thirsty-other-half in 2006, and I have been fortune to go back about a dozen times since, mostly on what my daughter calls work vacations!

Napa Valley is America’s most celebrated wine region, about one-sixth of the size of Bordeaux. The countryside is stunning with sea-level valley floors to mountain vineyards offering an extraordinary diverse soil for producing some the best Cabernet Sauvignon and red blends in the world.

Apart from one or two eminent exceptions whenever I go I try to visit different vineyards as you can literally go every day and never see the same place twice.

I’ve had some hysterically fun days out in Napa Valley, and enjoyed everything and more that this unique place has to offer.

Napa Valley. Holiday’s with the other-half and numerous work trips. 2006 through to 2023.

We went to the Napa valley with a friend of relative who is in the wine trade. Went to a wonderful small vineyard up in the hills. Can’t remember the name, but it was Italian. They were launching their new wine for season. As we arrived the owner’s wife was playing the music from the Godfather on a piano accordion. The atmosphere was perfect!
