Cambridge United 0 Charlton Athletic 2

It didn’t mean a lot, and I paid the game cursory attention from Barbados where I was watching my daughter at a swim meet, which had far more importance to me, but you never sniff at a win and a win it was.

A stale first half of little action nor ability, it got better in the second half and we deserved the win, but no more than the over 1,000 Addicks who made the journey. Hats off to you all.

Two very fortunate goals, one off a Cambridge backside and one of Washington’s bonce, but they all count.

CBT was again the stand-out causing havoc with his raw pace, but also to be fair to him improving in all areas of the pitch.

Two more games left, and it would be something at least if they can finish off the season on a good note at The Valley on Saturday.

Jacko: “Corey has gone from an impact bench player that has no history of really playing beyond an hour, or certainly no history of 90 minutes, and he’s looking strong.”

CA much better watching your daughter at a swim meet, than watching us play against a lesser Cambridge team who were giving other players a chance. Whereas we just play the same rota of squad players and our youngsters never get a look in, though Elewere at least got his bum on the subs bench!

Yet again, and with most on the beach (wow since October, hope their wallets can take the strain) Jackson proves totally incapable of changing anything up in an utterly meaningless. game. More of the same no doubt in the final 2 games.
What was the point of Burstow and Leko in the squad?
What was the point in starting Morgan and Matthews?
    Why play Pierce?
    And so on.
Oh, and where are those 2 from the PL? What a waste of money (and 2 loan spaces)
Penny to a pound Jackson will be sacked by Xmas when we are mired in mid table mediocrity again. Clueless on how to manage a football team and it’s tactics.

Got to agree with Mike & Houndal, I’m getting very frustrated that the same mid table players are repeatedly presented to us each match. With regard to the PL loanees I think we’ve made a serious mistake not playing them a little and the nearby PL clubs will think twice about loaning us players next season and our own good youngsters don’t get a look in either though I understand Elerewe has been out injured. Chances of keeping CBT this summer are low I would have thought too.

Harsh, but true. Burstow no longer a Charlton player, Pearce about to hang up his boots etc.
I think sentiment has to be replaced by ambition with regard to JJ. Do you think Sean Dyche would be an option….hmm

No hope and Bob Hope………….I would love Dyche, but no way he drops 2 leagues. He should get another PL gig, did a brilliant job at Burnley.
Oh and no way we could afford him.
And good point about future PL loanees after our appalling treatment of those 2 this season.
Chris Powell must be highly pi$$ed off.
