Ryan Inniss made Alex Gilbey look like Mastermind tonight. I don’t think I have ever seen a Charlton player make such a bad tackle. Inniss had six and a bit games to make a claim for a new contract, and now he is suspended for three. I don’t expect we will see him again.
We took the lead with ten men, and probably would have won with eleven. The move for the goal and the finish was alien to the rest of the game. Possibly one of our goals of the season. Fast forward to that if you watch the highlights and then turn off.
Matthews lung-busting run and cross was delicious and he was our best player, in fact none of them were terrible, or have I just got used to bottom half of Division 3 dross?
The Dons were poor and look like they will drop. We should have killed them off in the opening twenty minutes, but of course we didn’t. They looked short of confidence and ability, although they did have a couple of players that could send in a decent cross, one of which led to the 87th minute equalizer.
Jackson pretty much had a full squad to pick from tonight, haphazardly but not cheaply put together compared to many of the teams above us.
They are an embarrassment and we deserve better.

Yeah well knowing CAFC Innis is an absolute disgrace but he will be here next year and we love injury-prone players and so many substandard players.
On Innis people stating he is a good player. Really and playing so few matches in 2 seasons tells it all.
Get rid of so much dead wood but easier said than done and a million miles away from being a promotion chasing side.
Unfortunately we have a side full of dead wood.
However we do have some super youngsters who should be given opportunities during the last five games. Win or lose doesn’t matter now
Certainly a clear out is required.
We are at a point in the season where a stifled lower position in division 3 can draw on some firm ideas having established the majority of games played. Excuse the similarly here but if you allow mildew to arise and accumulate in a poorly ventilated bathroom then there is much at fault. As such, ventilation brings new ideas, allowing mildew to arise reflects on some questionable standards, not having it cleaned might mean you have the wrong or no products and an inability to clean properly said team said manager. Time for a spring clean don’t you think?
How ever much Jonnie Jackson is a Charlton legend him and his coaching team are not the people to get Charlton promoted from Division one. A manager with flexible ideas is needed to get promotion next season
I think that I agree with you. We need somebody a trifle more aloof and detached from the players. He should be retained in a coaching role.

With Inniss suspended and Lavelle and Purrington? injured, Jackson should take the opportunity to play at least one young defender. Elewere has not been seen for months so is probably injured. The best option would be Ness if his loan to Hampton and Richmond allows, he recently played for the U23s so is probably on a youth loan which may allow him to play?
As you know I have supported CAFC since the 1950s and now fear for the future of club.
Without a major shake up in the summer I am unlikely to renew my season ticket.
The standard of players recruited on loan in recent times has been poor but Premier League clubs are unlikely to let their better prospects join a club in the bottom half of Div1. So next season we should rely on our own youngsters if they are still with us and not sold like Beadle and Burstow.
Agree with everyone as we are all singing from the same page, the majority of this team are just not good enough &/or injury prone to gain promotion, but unfortunately most of them will still be here next year!
I originally thought Jackson was the person to guide us forward, but as the games have gone on, not so sure anymore. He plays the same formation every game, even when everyone can see it’s not working, his subsitutions are often left way too late, talented youngsters are not getting a chance, even when the team has been playing dire for many games on the trot, he just swaps around the same players for the next game. He appears to have no other game plan at all.
For instance why has Jackson still got Burstow on the bench now? He’s going back to Chelsea, the same with Leko, surely he still isn’t thinking of signing him permantly, also Lee he’s another player that’s not going to be any better than the other very average players we have on our books!
As per David & Trevor, I am now changing my mind and agree that Jackson shoud still be involved in a coaching role as before, but we really need a Manager who is not afraid to change tactics, bring on subs as soon as needed, someone who doesn’t have favourites and drops players whoever they are if they are not performing and gives any promising youngster a chance if the situation arises.
Plus I see Brentford and several other clubs are already circling around two promising youngters who have been performing out on loan, as we still haven’t offered them a contract yet, certain things still don’t change!
Now Jackson will probably play those 2 from Chelsea/Spurs.
But as he is incapable of change probably not.
Please tell me what was the point?
Other than to waste money.
Unfortunately for us Jackson has proved he can’t cut the mustard, way out of his depth.
How on earth can this club turn things around?
Crikey, imagine this poor team without George Dobson and Sean Clare; real battlers. Division Two would be a reality. Big Changes are needed at The Valley for the new season. COYR.

Riga – actually did OK in 1st spell

Luzon – ouch
Fraaye – WTF
Riga – 2nd spell did as well as he could, after what he inherited
Slade – OMG
Robinson – OK so so but his post match interviews give me strength
Bowyer – legend after Powell, did really well up to the last few games. Finally had enough.
Adkins – after decent end to season what on earth went wrong this season
Of course most of above had the mad Belgian to contend with.
Which is all the more reason to question if Jackson can take us beyond mediocrity.
Is that now our benchmark/
